This is the fifth consecutive summer for LIFE Today to highlight the Global Water for LIFE program.

This year LIFE will work to fund the drilling, construction and completion of 110 new water wells in 23 nations on four continents. Since the beginning of our worldwide outreach, we have completed almost 1000 new water wells across 25 different nations.

Our experience enables us to place each well in a strategic area to provide clean water for an average of 1000. Because of the high-quality materials and workmanship, the average well produces water for more than 25 years...and in many cases a lifetime of water for villages and communities.

With the average cost of each well at $4,800 (US), this means that a young, malnourished child can receive clean water for a lifetime for as little as $4.80.

Water shortage and water contamination are not temporary problems. It is a long-term, global problem. Yet in most cases, the answer is right under our feet in reservoirs 200 to 1000 feet below the surface. Even though the solution exists, about 18 percent of the world does not have access to improved, clean water. That’s about 1.2 billion people!

Your gift of $24 will help provide clean water for 5 people.

$48 will help provide clean water for 10 people.

$72 will help provide fresh, uncontaminated water for 15 people.

$144 dollars will help provide for 30 people for a lifetime

$1,200 can be combined with 3 other friends to help drill a complete well.

$2,400 can be combined with one other person to provide a new well. $4,800 will enable us to drill and install a complete water well that will provide clean, disease-free water for many years to come. This Summer’s Goal:

110 new wells located on 4 continents in 23 nations. It will require an additional $528,000 above our normal mission and ministry commitments to complete these wells.

Water Pipeline Project:

In addition to the 110 water wells we have planned a special WATER PIPELINE project in Madagascar. A village of about 15,000 people have no clean water, whatsoever. In this coastal area of the island, there is no consumable water under the soil. Wells we will drill 6-10 miles from this area will be “PIPELINED” into the village. When completed, this pipeline will deliver clean water to a holding tank that will serve 15,000 men, women and children. Currently mothers and children must walk, roundtrip, up to 15 miles a day to retrieve “contaminated” water.

This project is an additional $150,000 expense.

Thus, the total Summer Water for LIFE goal is $678,000.00

Conditions in Madagascar:

Cyclones are the dangerous and destructive forces that Madagascar faces each year. Already 3 in the last few months have caused massive flooding and loss of crops. In some areas many children walk for miles to carry water back to their home. Some families bring water from 20 miles away!

A bucket of water costs more than 25 cents which sounds like very little, but out of reach for those who make less than a $1 a day.
